AmerisourceBergen sells $400M in senior notes

AmerisourceBergen says it will use proceeds from sale to repay debt, other purposes

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. (AP) -- Drug distributor AmerisourceBergen Corp. said Thursday it completed a sale of $400 million in senior notes due in 2019.

The company said it will use $221.9 million of the funds to repay borrowings from its credit facility. The rest will be used for general corporate purposes. The 4.875 percent notes are due Nov. 15, 2019.

In afternoon trading, AmerisourceBergen shares dipped 21 cents to $24.18.
