Bucks County, Pa., Now Live on Lawson Enterprise Solutions Lawson applications to help Pennsylvania’s fifth-largest county cost-effectively increase productivity and enhance transparency to better serve its community ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bucks County, the fifth-largest county in Pennsylvania, has successfully
concluded a multi-suite implementation of an enterprise software system
from Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN - News). The second and final phase of
implementation included deployment of finance and procurement modules of
the Lawson
S3 Enterprise Financial Management and Supply
Chain Management suites, as well as Lawson
Business Intelligence and Lawson
System Foundation. Lawson
Professional Services provided implementation services for the
project rollout. Bucks County, located northeast of Philadelphia, has approximately 2,600 employees and serves more than 620,000 residents. It includes the boroughs and townships of Bensalem, Bristol, Doylestown and New Britain. The Lawson system replaces the county’s legacy business applications, helping administrators cut costs and increase the efficiency with which they serve their constituents. By putting in place an enterprise software system that helps streamline financial administration and procurement processes, the county can also enhance transparency of its operations, an important task that all local governments face today. Bucks County administrators will use the Lawson applications to help improve productivity and cross-departmental data sharing through business process automation. For example, the Lawson system will help the county:
“The Lawson system is helping us operate more effectively and efficiently from a business standpoint,” said Brian Hessenthaler, finance director, Bucks County. “The residents of Bucks County expect and deserve high value from the services they receive from the county. “Having the right enterprise software systems in place allows us to focus more of our time, energy and resources meeting the needs of our constituents – and less time focusing on task management.” “Lawson worked closely with Bucks County throughout this implementation to help deliver a smooth transition to the new business system,” said Brian Murphy, general manager, Public Sector, for Lawson. “Moving to a modern, unified system, helps public sector organizations improve transparency into their finances, procurement and HR processes, which helps them be more accountable and responsive to the needs of their constituents.” About Lawson Software Lawson Software provides software and service solutions to 4,500 customers in equipment service management and rental, fashion, food & beverage, healthcare, manufacturing & distribution, public sector (United States), service industries, and strategic human capital management across 40 countries.
