PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 2, 2009) - Paladin Energy Ltd ("Paladin" or "the Company") (TSX:PDN - News; ASX:PDN - News) is pleased to announce the appointment of Garry Korte as Chief Financial Officer. Garry will commence employment with Paladin on 2 November 2009 with his appointment as Chief Financial Officer effective November 16, 2009.

Garry is a Chartered Accountant with 20 years experience in mining and related industries, including at Director level.

Garry completed his training with PricewaterhouseCoopers before working for Credit Suisse in London. This was followed by 10 years in financial controller and CFO roles in the mining and construction sectors in Africa. More recently Garry gained investment banking experience with Resource Finance Corporation in Australia, held the position of General Manager Commercial for Brambles' mining services division and was an Executive Director and the CFO of Windimurra Vanadium Limited.

Garry holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants. He also qualified as a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (C.I.M.A) (United Kingdom) and Chartered Accountant (South Africa).

Garry brings a broad range of finance skills to the Company and we believe his corporate finance, commercial and international experience will add value as Paladin continues to grow.
