On October 9, 2008 Sparton Corporation, an Ohio Corporation (the "Company") announced that it received correspondence from Mr. Bradley O. Smith, Chairman of the Board of the Company, directed to the Board of Directors of the Company concerning the circumstances surrounding recent sales of stock owned by Mr. Smith.
