On August 5, 2009, Polypore International, Inc. issued a press release announcing the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) approval of grant funding to its Celgard, LLC business unit under the DOE's Electric Drive Vehicle Battery and Component Manufacturing Initiative (DE-FOA0000026).
