On August 7, 2009, Capitol Bancorp Limited (Capitol) accepted the resignation of John S. Lewis, a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Lewis has retired from his service as a member of the Board of Directors, a position he has held with Capitol since 2002. Mr. Lewis continues to serve as President of Bank Performance of Capitol.
