When you think of business, what systems do you associate with it? Associated Business Systems (ABS) thinks of big gadgets. ABS sells and services high-tech office machines (printers, copiers, fax machines, and scanners) made by companies such as Ricoh, HP, and Kyocera Mita. Other products include archival and retrieval devices, network imaging systems, and supplies for all the machines on the sales floor. The company, which bought Amidon's Copy Equipment in 2007, lets customers request service and demo some products on its Web site. It launched a mailroom solutions business in 2007. Founded in 1997, ABS became a wholly owned subsidiary of Ricoh in May 2008. President Craig Knouf was the majority shareholder.
