Laundry day can't come often enough for Alliance Laundry Holdings (ALH). Through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Alliance Laundry Systems, the company makes commercial laundry equipment used in laundromats, multi-housing laundry facilities (apartments, dormitories, military bases), and on-premise laundries (hotels, hospitals, prisons). Its washers and dryers are made under the brands Speed Queen, UniMac, Huebsch, IPSO, and Cissell. They're sold in North America and in 90 countries. Investment firm Teachers' Private Capital (private equity arm of Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan) acquired more than 91% of ALH for about $450 million in 2005. The company was founded in 1908.
