Life Equity equates life insurance policies on senior citizens with a good business opportunity. The company specializes in life settlements, or acquiring life insurance policies written on elderly individuals, wagering that the policy payout will not be negated by the company's outlay in purchasing the policy and paying its premiums. Typical acquired life insurance policies include those purchased by companies on key executives and later sold when the executive is no longer with the firm or the business is sold. Life Equity does not buy viatical settlements (life insurance policies covering terminally ill individuals).
