This Sun shines on newspaper readers in the Windy City. Sun-Times Media Group publishes the Chicago Sun-Times, one of the country's top daily newspapers that serves that Chicago along with rival paper the Chicago Tribune (published by Tribune Company). In addition to its flagship newspaper, Sun-Times Media publishes more than 50 community papers serving the Chicago metropolitan region, including The Herald News (Joliet, Illinois) and the SouthtownStar (Tinley Park, Illinois). It also operates Web sites in association with most of its papers. A group led by Chicago businessman James Tyree is acquiring Sun-Times Media, which filed for bankruptcy in 2009.
