Fashion is not the only art on display at Galeries Lafayette. Established in 1895, Galeries Lafayette's 60-plus stores offer private-label and designer apparel under such names as Christian LaCroix, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Valentino, and Yves Saint Laurent, while many stores feature restaurants. The group's retail network includes about a dozen home furnishing stores (under the BHV banner) and some 365 Monoprix hypermarkets, which sell groceries, apparel, furniture, and cosmetics in urban areas throughout France. Monoprix is jointly-owned with France's Casino Guichard-Perrachon. The Moulin family, which helped found Galeries Lafayette, owns 100% of the company.
